We are requesting your presence at a round table discussion with other spiritual leaders.

During small group sessions of Kingdom Partners over the past few years, we here in Chattanooga have already unpacked the issues of racism, injustice, and inequality. Our goal for this event is to identify how we can bring about reconciliation across the total community. The results of our discussion will be captured and combined with ideas from across the state and presented to Governor Bill Lee, per his request.

There have been several meetings already in Chattanooga where the Governor and his team have met with pastors and leaders around this topic, so we know he is very concerned about these issues. He believes the faith community has the best opportunity, more than the government, to bring leadership to these issues in our communities. He has asked Pastor Steve and Pastor James to meet with spiritual and community leaders in a round table forum and bring back suggestions that his Office can consider, recommend, or promote across the State.   Beyond his position as “Governor,” Governor Lee has grown deeply concerned, as a man of God about these issues. He has voiced his stance to Pastor Steve and Pastor James directly, stating, “this is the time for our faith leaders to rise up and lead our communities,” and we can and should have the responsibility to step up.

This is a huge task, but we believe with your support and your help, we can create solutions for our civic leaders, faith community, and citizens that will make a huge difference.

Dave Worland,
Executive Director, The Governor’s office of Faith Based and Community Initiatives
